A Mildewed Majesty to Drown a Sour Sound

CONGREGATION:
Alas, great Vik
We've nowhere to turn, all is lost
And so we ope our ears to thee of the towering tomes.

VIK:
Come ye, blasted children, ye do not know your history
I am older, wiser, have seen the graven spirits and tasted nectar
Two towns told me to take the towering tomes, make me commit to memory the musings of a mildewed majesty:
The teachings... of history.
History will show us through this time of crisis
When the night is long and brings with it ghouls to feast upon our souls.

CONGREGATION:
Let the lean, sheen, shine sun rise!

VIK:
Aye, let the lean, sheen, shine sun rise.
Now hear ye, sayeth the Nightsworn Prince:

CONGREGATION:
Not the Nightsworn Prince!

VIK:
"Glower! Scour! Coward!
Our hour comes for the night, for the liar, for those that could never be higher
Sour sound whirling around towards the ground, now found:
Forever will my kin be infesting thy dreams
Forever will my kin be drying coarse thy crops
Forever will my kin be suckling all nourishment out thy bodymind
Bloating thy boils, boiling thy tears, razing thy voices
'Til thee starve or are driven mad enough to stake thy kinsmen through!"

CONGREGATION:
Sour sound!

VIK:
"Take the night, fill the night, there isn't a daysworn spittlesucking thing that you can do to make this situation right."

CONGREGATION:
Alas! No sun!

VIK:
But!
Sayeth the Stranger of the Creek:

CONGREGATION:
Glory to she, the Stranger of the Creek!

VIK:
"Value new, value you:
Verdant green
Sound of a wandering willow."

CONGREGATION:
Sound of a wandering willow!

VIK:
"Coalesce thy dirt and dogs
Set the hounds upon the soil 'til the sour sound is heard from the riverbanks
Seek ye a willow, uprooted and weak
To muffle the sour sound and suffocate the Nightsworn Kin."

CONGREGATION:
Let the lean, sheen, shine sun rise!

VIK:
Aye, aye
Go ye, blasted children
You have heard the recitation: find ye a willow!
T'will live as only verbal memories unless it's paired with action.
