The Evils and Delights of Split-Focus

HAY GUYS DID U NO THAT I ACT AND WRITE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!111?

No fekkin' shit.

Obligatory picture is obligatory.

Obligatory picture is obligatory.

Acting and writing are my two main focuses. However, because both career paths are (for all intents and purposes related to what I want) completely separate, I am plagued by a lack of focus in my life.

If I were to say: "I'm an actor first and foremost! All else is secondary!" then there's a lot more I'd have the time and energy for in forwarding my acting career. Vice Versa with writing.

I haven't narrowed into one discipline because I'm still convinced that I can have it both ways. I don't need to put one on hold; I think I can make concurrent career paths work.

Famous last fuckin' words right there.

I don't think I'm asking too much by trying to have it all. I think, ultimately, I just need to become okay with the fact that I'm going to be in constant creative turmoil. And that's okay, because I'm the sort of person who'd be in creative turmoil if I was working in just one medium anyway.

It's nice to flex different muscles of the creative spectrum. I've never been the sort to settle easily into JUST ONE endeavor. Forever and ever have multiple projects going; just look at some of the shit I was doing in high school.

On second thought... don't.
